The REMOLD doctoral network is accepting applications for 9 PhD positions from 17/12/2024 til 30/04/2025.

What we expect from you

  • You will have completed a Master’s degree in Mathematics before the start date (September/October 2025).
  • You have a strong background and keen interest in algebraic geometry and/or representation theory.
  • You are able to work independently on your mathematical research topic, but at the same time open to communicate with your peers in the REMOLD network and beyond.
  • You strike a good balance between perseverance in pursuing your research and flexibility in considering different approaches.
  • You have good writing and communication skills (in English).
  • You satisfy the EU mobility rules: in general, you must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the recruitment date (September / October 2025).

Concerning the application process, note the following:

  • The REMOLD career committee will schedule interviews on a regular basis, roughly monthly.
  • Interviews will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis, while taking into account the merits of each individual application.
  • Applicants may choose to apply for several positions at the same time. If the positions in question are already filled the REMOLD career committee might offer positions in other universities.

You need to provide transcripts of records, copies of your degree(s), your Master thesis (or draft thereof). We will also ask you to name two people who are willing to write a recommendation letter on your behalf.
