We are pleased to announce that the REMOLD special semester in Padova has commenced, as planned, on February 23rd, and is successfully heading into its fourth week. The doctoral candidates received a warm welcome by REMOLD PIs Jakob Scholbach and Bruno Chiarellotto, as well as the rest of the academic and administrative staff at the Mathematics Department of Università degli Studi di Padova.
On top of the weekly course on motivic sheaves given by Prof. Jakob Scholbach, and a seminar on the Atiyah-Bott formula for the cohomology of the moduli space of bundles on a curve, organized by the DCs, we had the pleasure of hosting two expert guest speakers, Dr Bastiaan Cnossen and Dr Swann Tubach. Bastiaan Cnossen gave a lecture titled “Construction of six-functor formalisms”, while Swann Tubach’s talk was about Nori motives over a field.

The DCs also had a chance to present their current research projects to each other, so as to facilitate finding common interests and future collaborations.
